Assistance Towing Insurance
If you have assistance towing coverage with your insurance company or a towing club, you are still required to provide payment at the completion of the tow. The Sea Tow® Captain will provide you with a detailed copy of the Towing Invoice, allowing you to apply to your provider for payment according to their reimbursement policy. Check your policy and make sure you have enough coverage.
With a Sea Tow® membership, you never have to worry about having enough towing coverage. And if you use our services your rates won’t go up and we won’t cancel your membership.
Service Areas
Home Area Tows - All members have unlimited assistance towing services on the covered vessel and may be towed by Sea Tow® to the dock of their choice within their selected home area at no charge. No time limits, distance limits or dollar limits apply within your home area.
Multiple Area Towing (M.A.T.) - Multiple Area Towing is our unparalleled unlimited towing coverage. It was specifically designed to get our members home free of cost, from further away than any other program. It entitles you, or anyone authorized to use your vessel, to unlimited towing in your homeport area, as well as any adjacent Sea Tow® area. If our members travel beyond our extensive M.A.T. Service Area (outside the bright yellow area) they will receive towing to the port of their choice. View the Coverage Area Map.
Universal Towing Coverage – In remote areas, where there is no Sea Tow® provider, Sea Tow® will arrange and pay for your assistance towing up to $5,000 per incident, with no annual aggregate limits. You must use a Coast Guard licensed professional tower, pay the bill and submit a copy of the invoice to Sea Tow® International for reimbursement. Unauthorized tows will not be paid.

Non-member Services
If you’re not a member, we will provide you with towing services, provided we are not currently servicing a member. Our members receive first priority. All towing/service rates are based on the port-to-port running time of the towboat. Inclusive of all the time for travel of the towboat to your vessel, towing your vessel to it’s destination and the return travel time for the towboat back to the position from which it was dispatched. Full payment is due at the completion of the tow.
